Andy Laidlaw Former Reducing Reoffending Governor in the Northwest Joins Tempus Novo
Tempus Novo Welcomes Former Prison Governor Andy Laidlaw to Senior Leadership Role
01 July 2025 – Leeds, UK
Tempus Novo is delighted to welcome Andy Laidlaw to the team. Originally from Liverpool, Andy brings decades of experience from both the justice system and private sector.
After over ten years in London running small businesses, Andy joined the Prison Service at HMP Wandsworth in 1988. Over a 26-year career with HMPPS, he held senior roles across the prison estate, including Deputy Governor in the Long Term High Secure Estate, and worked with the Women’s Directorate and Ministry of Justice HQ.
A lifelong advocate for rehabilitation, Andy has earned recognition including a Prison Officer of the Year Award and a Butler Trust Award for his community engagement. In 2015, he became a Churchill Fellow, conducting research in the U.S. on re-entry initiatives for prison leavers. His report can be found here.
Andy has long believed that many in prison don’t need to be there and that those who do shouldn’t return. His new role at Tempus Novo allows him to continue that mission.
Tempus Novo extends a heartfelt welcome to Andy Laidlaw as he begins this exciting new chapter.
